    Housekeeping Helpers provides services between 8:30 AM and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. When emailing or calling, please note that our general response time is within 48 hours.

    Initial Contact

    There are two ways that prospective clients can contact Housekeeping Helpers.

    In return I will send you a copy of the Service Guide. The Service Guide answers a lot of frequently asked questions regarding cleaning services. I can e-mail you a copy of the Service Guide in the form of a Word document or I can mail a copy to a physical address that you specify.

    Please do not hesitate to call or e-mail me with any questions or concerns that you may have after reviewing the Service Guide. If you are thinking about hiring our services, call or e-mail to schedule a weekend appointment for an in-home consultation so we can discuss your household needs a little more in depth.
    An in-home consultation is free of charge.

    The Consultation

    Prospective clients and Shalena Goss, owner and service provider of Housekeeping Helpers, will meet at the clients' home for a consultation that generally lasts between thirty and sixty minutes
    We will discuss the following:
  • Review all of your current household needs;
  • Do a walk through in your home and fill out the sample home plan forms included in the Service Guide;
  • Review the Service Guide;
  • Discuss any questions or concerns that you might have;
  • After reviewing your current household needs, I will develop a customized home-cleaning plan. It will be complete with your personalized cleaning quote, room-to-room checklists, and detail any special cleaning requests or additional household tasks besides normal services. I will have the customized cleaning plan ready for your review within two business days after the consultation. After reviewing and approving the plan, you and Shalena Goss will sign a service agreement arrange a date and time for cleaning services to begin.
  • Emergency information forms will be filled out

  • A set of keys is to be provided to Shalena Goss upon signing the service agreement if client will not be home during cleaning visits.

    The other alternative is to agree on a place where an extra set of keys will be located. Please note we do not make secondary visits to drop off or pick up keys or to pick up payments. The charge is $25 for each visit if pick up or drop off services are requested. You are more than welcome to make an appointment to pick up or drop off keys or payments at 2609 Austin Village Blvd. in Johnson City.

    The consultation is a time for all parties to meet and share information regarding the servicing of the home. Sometimes not all cleaner-client matches are appropriate; therefore, we reserve the right to decline services.

    The Service Agreement

    Housekeeping Helpers updates service guides and service agreements on January 1 of each year. You will receive a copy of the new service agreement in the month of December. This will give you an opportunity to read and review the agreement as well as ask questions. Your service agreement is a one year agreement. If you decide to cease services before service agreement is up, there will be no penalty for terminating service.

    Clientele

    Housekeeping Helpers provides house cleaning services to residents of Johnson City and the surrounding areas. Approximately 30 percent of our client base consists of one person households in which the resident works away from the home on an average of sixty hours a week. The remaining 70 percent of our clients are families with multiple responsibilities: children, family activities, and involvement with the community events.

    Severe Weather Conditions

    Housekeeping Helpers will provide limited, delayed, or no service during inclement weather.
  • Housekeeping Helpers will not provide service during snow storms, sleet and ice conditions
  • Housekeeping Helpers will not provide service during Johnson City school closings;
  • Services could be on a two hour delay if Johnson City Schools are on a two hour delay.
  • Limited or delayed service may occur in extreme thunderstorms, or dangerously hot or cold conditions
  • Limited or delayed service may occur during any city or state declared emergency;
  • All visits during inclement weather will be on an hourly advisory status depending on driving conditions.

    Safety

    Please let Housekeeping Helpers know in advance of any person or people who may be in your home during the housecleaning. This includes family members, service contractors, repair personnel, and so forth. Housekeeping Helpers reserves the right to reschedule the visits that coincides with a visit by another houseguest or service contractor.

    Cleaning Quotes

    Because no two houses are the same, Housekeeping Helpers personalizes rates for each home. This way you will be sure to only pay for the services that you will use. A general quote for a single cleaning of an entire home can vary depending on several different factors that are considered but not limited to:
  • Size - the square footage of a home;
  • Layout - how many stories, bathrooms, or what kind of flooring is in a home;
  • Residents - how many people live in the home;
  • Pets - how many pets live in the home;
  • Children - how many young children live in the home;
  • Type of Cleaning - any additional cleaning tasks besides our normal services;
  • Package Rates - special discounts for clients that use our service more frequently;

  • Housekeeping Helpers offers discounted package rates to clients that use our services more frequently because we can transition from initial deep cleaning into maintenance cleanings. If you are interested in our services, call or e-mail for an in-home consultation so that we can develop your personalized cleaning plan and service quote.

    In-home consultations are free of charge.

    Cancellations

    Excessive cancellations with less than 48 hours' notice may lead to cessation of services. We understand that emergencies happen, and that you may occasionally need to cancel services with less than 48 hours' notice. Please reserve such cancellations for emergencies only.
  • Please phone or e-mail for all cancellations.
  • Cancellations with less than 48 hours are charged $45. The only exception is inclement weather or an emergency.

    Billing and Payments

    A billing statement will be prepared every Monday and either e-mailed to you or left at your residence. Payment is due within four days (weekends and holidays included).

  • You may leave a check or money order at your residence on the day of service.
  • Please make all checks and money orders payable to Housekeeping Helpers.
  • Please do not postdate checks or money orders.
  • You may pay with Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover Card. We accept credit payments through PayPal.com. Please ask for information on how to set up a free account with PayPal. PayPal is secure and encrypted.
  • For security reasons, we do not accept cash left at residences. If you would like to pay in cash, please call or e-mail Shalena Goss to arrange a drop off time at 2609 Austin Village Blvd. Johnson City.
  • Occasionally we barter for services. If you have a professional service that you think may be of use to us, please feel free to ask. Bartering is one way that the community and small businesses can help each other.
  • Housekeeping Helpers will issue a receipt within forty-eight hours after the payment is received. The receipt will be sent to you via e-mail or left at your residence.

    Payments that are received beyond the due date listed on your billing statement are subject to late fees of $1.00 a day (weekends and holidays included) until the account is brought up to date. In cases of frequent late payments, Housekeeping Helpers reserves the right to terminate services. Additional fees may be imposed for returned checks and closed accounts. In such cases you will be charged $35 for each returned check (that is the service fee imposed on us by our bank), and any additional bank fees that are charged to us, as well as daily late fees that accrue until the account is brought up to date.
